Case Studies

Peblaco has selected a couple of projects as case studies to show the ideas behind the projects, the results that were achieved and the clients comments on the outcome.

The Candlelight Company

Visit The Candlelight CompanyThe Candlelight Company came to Peblaco needing advice about improving the search engine optimisation of their site. They already had an ecommerce site using Actinic software, but it was not performing well on search engines.

Having looked at the site there were several heading tags missing that were important for search engines, the code was not well structured and the design did not make their site stand out so we set about improving these areas. After the project we asked Ian at The Candlelight company about the outcome:

1. What were the main issues that needed addressing?
"I had created my Actinic site myself using the basic templates available. As I had very little spare time to devote to the site design it did not look very professional and the structure of the site was not clear and some aspects of the site did not conform to industry 'best practice'."

2. What areas of your new site are you most pleased about?
"The overall look and feel of the new design is much cleaner and bolder, its easier to use, looks more professional and some 'best practices' have been built in i.e. standard navigation links throughout the site, clear view of Shopping Basket contents/spend and correct SEO text formatting."

3. How pleased are you overall with the site?
"I'm delighted with the result, a huge improvement."

4. What do your customers think of your new site?
"The new design was only launched 2 weeks ago and already I've had positive feedback about the changes from some of my customers."

5. What do you think of the customer service offered by Peblaco?
"Excellent, my queries are always answered in a timely fashion."

6. Would you recommend Peblaco to someone else?
"Definitely."

Home Bits

Visit Home BitsHome Bits came to Peblaco as they had an existing Actinic site but wanted to add further functionality - the ability to change the content on the sidebars of the website, hide the sidebars on certain pages, add alternative product images and improve the ordering process on the product pages.

We re-coded the templates with CSS and dynamic Actinic code which allowed the client to show and hide sidebars and add images and links all using Actinic menus. After the project we asked James at Home Bits about the outcome:

1. What were the main issues that needed addressing?
"The original design of our layout was fixed and therefore inflexible to change and by default had inherent problems that hampered our upgrade path, together with problems associated with too many clicks to get to the area of interest."

2. What areas of your new site are you most pleased about?
"Easier navigation, secure checkout, pictures in fragments/checkout."

3. How pleased are you overall with the site?
"Very happy."

4. What do your customers think of your new site?
"Early days, but we all like the changes here and we find it easier to locate the products with less clicks."

5. What do you think of the customer service offered by Peblaco?
"Very efficient and quick"

6. Would you recommend Peblaco to someone else?
"Yes and already have to clients and friends."
