Actinic Templates FAQs

How many sites can I use these templates on ?

The terms of use allows a non-exclusive limited license to use the templates on one licensed version of Actinic software belonging to you or your client for one web site on one domain name only. If you wish to use the templates for another web site then you must purchase another package of the templates so that you hold a second license for the second site.

You may not place the designs, templates or code, modified or unmodified, in full or in part on any diskette, CD, DVD, email, web site, site builder, server or any other medium and offer them for redistribution, lending, rental, resale, free offer, give away or redistribution of any kind without prior written consent from Peblaco. Also, you may not sub-license, assign or transfer the license on these templates to anyone else without prior written consent from Peblaco. Please read the terms of use for full license conditions.

Can I change the appearance of the templates using Actinic ?

Yes. Peblaco has developed unique Dynamic Design extended features for Actinic which makes these completely customisable Actinic templates. You can change whether the site uses 1, 2 or no sidebars, change site widths & page alignment, change positions of logo, search, menus, cart, lists, links and change images. You can also change the colour scheme, logo, links, font type, font sizes, background colour or background image as with default Actinic sites.

Can I customise the templates code ?

Yes. Under the terms of use you are permitted to customise the templates code to meet your requirements. Peblaco does not support any changes you make to the templates. Should you make any coding changes and need assistance, Peblaco reserves the right to quote separately for any support or work.

Can you customise the templates for me ?

Yes. Should you require any customisation, copy any code across from your current site such as a newsletter box or statistics code then please contact Peblaco, custom work is quoted for separately. In this instance, it would take longer to receive your package.

What version of Actinic are these templates for ?

All Actinic templates are built for the most recent release version of Actinic 8 / 9 and will work with all Actinic software releases - Catalog, Business, Multi-site and Multi-User versions.

Will the templates work with Actinic versions 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 ?

Peblaco can convert a design to an earlier version of Actinic for you, but may make a charge to cover converting the code. Contact Peblaco with your requirements.

Please note: Creating an earlier version means it would take longer to receive your package. Earlier versions of Actinic do not support all of the template features that have been engineered for version 8 or 9. Peblaco recommends that you use either Actinic version 8 or 9 to take advantage of the specially developed functionality built for these Actinic versions.

Are the templates easy to install ?

Yes. The easy to follow PDF instruction guide contains a simple step by step procedure for importing the templates and selecting them within Actinic software.

Will these templates affect my current Actinic site ?

Your Actinic content - your sections and products etc will remain exactly the same, it is only the design around them that will change. Unlike a traditional application of an "Actinic theme" from within the software which overwrites any current templates and stylesheet customisations you may have made, Peblaco's templates are added alongside your current templates and uses a seperate stylesheet protecting your current files in case they are needed.

Will the templates work with large images ?

You can add content or images upto 580 pixels wide to the central area. Any wider content may displace the layout, (some default Actinic templates written in CSS which are coded for around 570 pixels for the central area).

What code have the templates been built with ?

The templates have been built using a CSS stylesheet and HTML tested to W3C standards.

Please note: Actinic software uses Actinic specific coding tags within the templates for the site to work and these Actinic code tags do not comply with W3C HTML standards as they are not recognised, however this does not affect site functionality or display. Also if you use Peblaco's Actinic templates along with other Actinic templates or CSS stylesheets which are not built by Peblaco, the overall page may not meet W3C CSS / HTML standards.

Are the templates search engine friendly ?

Yes. The templates are built so that the main area of the page containing your Actinic content comes before the left or right sidebars in the code. This means that when a search engine crawls your site pages it finds the content higher in the code and it is given more importance. Also the templates are built using CSS stylesheets using correct coding to W3C standards which is easier for search engines to read and faster for users to download.

Will the templates work in the main web browsers ?

Yes. The templates have been extensively browser tested to work with the main browsers Internet Explorer 6 / 7 and Firefox 2. The templates also work in many other popular web browsers.

Do the templates meet accessibility standards ?

Yes. Peblaco's Actinic templates are built to ensure they comply with WAI accessibility standards to Level A conformance and built using a CSS stylesheet. CSS allows for styling the web site via an external stylesheet. Where CSS stylesheets are disabled in the browser, the page is still readable and functional. The following features have been implimented to assist visually impaired users:

• Built clearly in CSS to assist screen readers
• Links to skip to main navigation areas
• Navigation links clearly separated
• No flickering or scrolling elements
• Scripts kept to a minimum

Please note: If you use Peblaco's Actinic templates along with other Actinic templates or CSS stylesheets which are not built by Peblaco, the overall page may not meet WAI accessibility standards to Level A conformance.

What payment methods do you take ?

You can order these templates online by following the instructions on the template package page and pay using a debit / credit card or Paypal via a secure Paypal payment page. You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay by debit / credit card, simply follow the instructions on the payment page. You may also pay by cheque or postal order contact Peblaco to arrange this, although please note that payment will need to clear before the templates are sent to you.

Do you offer support for these templates ?

As part of the templates package you will receive an instruction guide which tells you how to import the new design into your Actinic software. Support covers telephone or email assistance with sending the package to you, installation of the templates by yourself and you selecting the templates from within Actinic only. Peblaco does not provide further support with these templates. Should you require additional assistance you can contact Peblaco. Peblaco may quote for any additional support separately.

Is the Actinic software package included with your templates ?

No. These Actinic templates are sold separately. To use these templates you must own a fully licensed version of Actinic ecommerce software. Please see the terms of use.

When will I receive my templates ?

Once payment has been received the templates are emailed to you. Typically this is the same day, although please allow upto 3 business days. If you have not received your package after 3 days please contact Peblaco. It could be a problem with the email address the package was sent to or there may be delays during busy periods.

What does the template package contain ?

You will be emailed a package containing the necessary files - an Actinic 8 / 9 design import file (unless you have an earlier version of Actinic), the design images and CSS stylesheet to copy into your Actinic folder and a colour scheme file. Templates are supplied with an easy to follow PDF instruction guide for importing and selecting the new templates from within your Actinic software.

What happens if I install the templates and then need to upgrade my Actinic Software ?

Should you upgrade your Actinic software in future to a different patch version of Actinic or a different version number the Actinic software should upgrade the templates correctly. However, should any unforeseen problems arise from Actinic software upgrades, Peblaco reserves the right to quote separately for any work needed to upgrade the templates.

Do you offer refunds ?

As per the terms of use, Peblaco offers these templates as non-tangible irrevocable goods. Due to the digital nature of these designs and templates, there will be no refunds once you have been sent the package. If you purchase something in error and the package has not yet been sent to you, you can contact Peblaco to apply for a refund or exchange at Peblaco's discretion. Once the package has been sent to you, no refunds are offered. All sales are final. Please make sure you have read the product description, these FAQs and the terms of use so that you understand your purchase before going ahead to avoid any disappointment.

Can I purchase your templates and then resell them ?

No. You may not resell Peblaco's templates modified or unmodified, in full or in part. Can I move my templates to another domain name ?

If you purchased templates for use on a domain name and are now moving your site to another domain name, remove the templates from the old domain name and contact Peblaco with the new domain name that you wish to use the Actinic templates on so your information on the list of authorised sites is updated. This way Peblaco knows that you are not violating the terms of use. You may not use the templates on two different web sites either on the same domain name or different domain names at the same time. If you wish to use the templates for another web site then you must purchase another package of the templates so that you hold a second license for the second site. Can I transfer my templates to another user ?

As per the terms of use, you may not sub-license, assign or transfer the license on these templates to anyone else without prior written consent from Peblaco. In this instance please contact Peblaco with your request.

Can I put your templates or images on my site for someone to choose from before I buy ?

No. You are not allowed use any of Peblaco's images, text or code on your site even if you are just providing details of Peblaco's templates to decide from before you purchase a license. All of Peblaco's pages, images, text and code is copyrighted material. This would be a violition of Peblaco's terms and conditions. Please see terms of use.
